Talk, sing, write and play; Share a story everyday

El Otoño Ya Llego

We started with this simple rhyme that I wrote:

Las Hojas Están Cayendo

(To the tune of London Bridge)

Las hojas están cayendo

Están girando

Están moviendo

Las hojas están cayendo

Nos caemos

Our flannel story followed along to the song Un Arbol Yo Conoci  by Jim Rule.  The lyrics are very simple.   We taught the children the refrain first:

En un árbol yo conocí, cinco manzanas me vieron a mí

Este árbol yo sacudí, y se cayó una y me la comí

The flannel is very simple, the trunk is from Microsoft clip art and the apples are just felt cut outs:

5 green apples

Then we read our story, El Conteo Regresivo del Otoño by Fran Hawk, doing a little math as we went:  Diez menos uno es….

Conteo Regresivo de Otono

For the craft we made autumn crowns
